While it's important to brush your teeth and comb your hair, it can be very distracting while driving. These bad driving habits can cause accidents and raise your insurance rates. Here's a list of some of the worst driving habits:

Tell us what you think.

Drinking and driving

Not wearing seat belt

Texting or talking on cell phone

Speeding

Turning around to talk to passengers or yell at kids or reaching for things in the backseat

Tailgating

Eating, particularly hot drinks and messy foods like tacos

Reading, lots of people try to read directions while driving

Excessive lane changing

Road Rage

Putting on makeup,  or even trying to change clothes

Not using turn signals or putting it on too late

Crossing three lanes of traffic

Going too slow in the “fast” lane - Crawling

Not paying attention to traffic or pedestrians

Ignoring traffic signs and signals

Not putting on headlights

Always make sure that your auto insurance is up to date and that your ID card is in your glove compartment.  Many people carry their insurance card in their wallet, but when a spouse or a friend borrows your car, they have no proof of insurance.
